On November 26, 2025, I finally walked across the stage at Universitas Gadjah Mada to receive my Bachelor of Information Engineering degree.

This moment was a long time coming, and the timing couldn’t have been more poetic. It happened just three days before my birthday, making it the best early gift I could have asked for. But more than that, it was the “quiet after the storm” of an incredibly intense final semester.

A Season of High Stakes

My graduation was originally supposed to happen in August. However, life had other plans. I made the decision to postpone it so I could travel to Seoul, South Korea, to present my research at IEEE MetaCom 2025.

The momentum didn’t stop there. Just a few days before the graduation ceremony, I was in Hong Kong, competing in the finals of the Huawei Developer Competition 2025. Coming straight from the excitement of an international 1st Runner-Up win in Hong Kong to the tradition of a UGM graduation ceremony was a whirlwind experience I’ll never forget.

Reflections on the Journey

I am honored to have graduated with a Cum Laude distinction. While the GPA is a nice reflection of the hard work, the real value of these four years at UGM wasn’t found in the classroom alone. It was found in the late nights in DTETI’s container, the deep-dives into Leslie Lamport’s papers for my BFT thesis, and the resilience built through both “heartbreaking” losses and international victories.

What’s Next?

As I close this chapter, I feel incredibly grateful to my family, my “goated” teammates, and the mentors at UGM who pushed me to look beyond local boundaries and compete on a global stage.

I’m entering the professional world not just with a piece of paper, but with a published paper, a couple of trophies, and a deep hunger to solve the next big challenge in distributed systems.
